Michael O’Donnell Memorial Plaque

The Men’s Club donated $2500 to create a memorial plaque to honor poet, Vietnam veteran, and Shorewood High School student Michael O’Donnell. Several Men’s club members attended the unveiling ceremony where classmates of Michael’s from 1963 gathered to share memories and the story of creating a scholarship in his honor. Michael was killed in Vietnam in 1969 when his helicopter was shot down. A picture of the plaque follows, it contains a poem written by Michael during his time in Vietnam.
